Hi everyone!

I just got off the phone talking to a good buddy of mine about earning money from the internet. I called him up to greet him a happy birthday… we exchanged pleasantries and updated each other on what we’ve been up to.

Cutting the long story short… I mentioned that I was earning a steady income through the internet. He was quite surprised at what he had just heard. He asked, “You mean it’s true? You can really earn money on the internet?”. I said, “Of course!”.

Apparently, he thought that all that buzz about earning online is a scam!

I can’t blame him though. Lot’s of scam artists have sprung up on the internet, scamming newbies or people who want to earn extra income. It’s really sad when you think about it…

It’s like robbing people of a great opportunity!

Well, I would like to affirm that anybody can “Earn Money on the Internet”. But I would like to warn you in advance that there are a lot of scammers out there waiting for an opportunity to pounce on anybody who’ll let them.

My rule of thumb to identify these crooks is: “If the offer is too good to be true… then it is too good to be true!” If you come upon an offer, promising you riches overnight… turn away from it. It is a scam!

It is true, you can earn money online… but it takes a lot of effort. I’m not saying this to discourage you… I just want you to know what to expect. If you are serious about making money online, then you should look at it in the same way as you’ll look at building an offline business or what we call a “brick and mortar” business.

The main difference being your ability to work from the comforts of your own home. In an online business… armed with a computer and an internet connection, and some knowledge on how it works is all you need to start. (Please take note that “some knowledge” could mean “a lot of knowledge”, depending on your present skill and internet knowhow.)

The point is, if you want to earn money… anywhere for that matter… you need to invest time, effort and money!

If done right, the capital necessary to earn a substantial income through the internet is very little. I had to do it the hard way… I spent thousands of dollars just to learn the tricks and ways of earning online.

Often I would buy an ebook about earning money online… while the book contains good information, I’ll get stuck with some process where I needed something else before I could go on… like I had to have a domain name, a hosting account that would host my domain name… etc. Can you see the picture now?

After some time I was able to earn a steady flow of income through “Affiliate Marketing”. I can’t explain what it is in this post as it is a very broad and extensive topic. If you’re interested to know more about it, you can go to this site: http://www.affiloscope.com/

Anyway, I promised to myself, that I would create a step-by-step tutorial that would teach even the greenest of newbies how to earn money online. But I found out that its not that simple… so I decided to put it off for a while and concentrate on learning more.

Last month, I chanced upon this site which offered to teach newbies how to earn money online. For my regular readers, you already know the site… but for those of you who are new to my blog, it’s called “The 30-day Challenge”.

While it’s over now… the organizers didn’t take down the site. Anybody can still go there and register and do the 30 day challenge from day 1. But before you do so, be prepared to spend time learning. You should at least allot an hour or two everyday for 30 days. If you can’t do that… then don’t bother going to the site.
