Goodbye 30-Day Challenge!

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Technically, today is the 30th day of the challenge… but since it was held in August, there is an extra bonus day tomorrow.

I can’t believe that I’ve been doing it for 30 days now. I’ve learned so much this month and I can’t thank the guys at #30DC enough.

I would like to thank Ed Dale and his team, from the bottom of my heart, for putting up this challenge. I just hope that other marketers would level up to the kind of quality that you and the team has offered for free.

I can’t tell you enough how valuable all these things I’ve learned from the challenge are and they will definitely help me in both my online and offline business ventures.

I wish I had known about it sooner and informed more of my friends and subscribers. I’m looking forward to joining again next year! Hopefully, I will have a success story to tell!

For those of you who have joined in it as well, I’d like to congratulate you for sticking it out until the end. It wasn’t easy… but I’m sure you’ll agree that its well worth it!

A few reminders though… if you haven’t bought the full version of Market Samurai yet, I suggest that you buy it before tomorrow ends. As a member of the Thirty Day Challenge, you are entitled to buy it for $69.00 (one time fee only). They’re going to sell it for $149 (still cheap, ‘coz I think its worth way more than that) after the challenge is over.

This is not an affiliate pitch or anything… I won’t be earning commissions for recommending them to you at this point. I just think that their product is first class and is every Internet Marketer’s dream tool.

For Wordpress Direct, I bought a Silver Membership for $1 and I’ll be automatically billed after my 30 days is up. I think they charge, $37/month (I’m not sure how much they charge, if you’re going to buy outside of the challenge). For the newbies out there… this is a great tool for you! I still subscribed to them although I know most of the stuff that they’re doing, simply because having them around will give me more time to spend on marketing my products.

Now that I’ve used these two great products, and realized first hand how much they’ve made life easier for me… I must say, “I can’t live without them!” lol!

I got so used to spending time to learn the daily tutorials in the challenge, and I’m sure I’m going to miss spending late nights (sometimes until the wee hours of the morning) on my computer. I guess, its time to say goodbye and start implementing everything I’ve learned.

I hope you guys also found all of these worth your while. Good luck to all of you and hope to see you again in next years challenge!

I’ll give you an update, once in a while, regarding my exploits, using the things I’ve learned from the challenge!

Cheers,

Eric Delos Santos

Thirty Day Challenge Update (Day 18~25)

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Hi there!

It’s currently Day 25 of the #30DC. Have you read my post about my site ranking at #4 last week? Well, it slid down to #50… mainly because I didn’t do any changes and updates on the site for almost a week. This means that in order for a site to stay in the front page of google, you have to constantly add relevant and fresh information and socially bookmark everything that you add.

Just to prove this point, I made a new post on my site last night… just a short one (about 400 words). Then I went to Squidoo and made a follow up article about the content on my site. I then bookmarked these pages on at least 5 social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, etc.

After about an hour or so… I checked my site’s ranking and sure enough, my site is in a higher position. It’s at #12… still on the second page of google but I just made a few updates. Imagine what would happen if I continued this everyday?

I can dominate this phrase and other phrases that I’ve targeted!

Of course its hard work… but if I am at the #1 position for my phrase, I’ll be receiving about 100 visitors per day (based on the Market Samurai tool data). Let’s assume that I really work hard at it and stayed there for about a month. And assuming that I get 1% conversion rate (1 out of the 100 clicks I receive would buy my product - this is a pretty low assumption), that would give me about 30 sales/month. If I earn $25/sale on my product, that would be equivalent to $750.00 per month earnings for me.

And what if I had 10 sites like this? I’d be earning a cool $7,500.00 per month! Not bad huh? But I wouldn’t have a life by then! lol!

All I would do is just update content on my sites, post new articles, do some social bookmarking… etc. every waking hour of the day! Not a very exciting thought!

But if I will use Wordpress Direct, one of the softwares that I got to try out for free in the #30DC… this wouldn’t be true. It will give me more rest time without worrying about my site’s ranking sliding down.

How does it do that? Well, I’ve tinkered with the software and discovered what it’s other features can do and how it can help me do less and still maintain a high ranking.

The 30DC team will be showing us how to make use of this feature tonight or tomorrow… not so sure when, but they are going to teach it in one of the remaining sessions. Watch out for it… I’m sure you’ll be blown away at how cool these features are.

Hint: It’s automatic!

Anyway, I just want to remind you that google wants relevant, fresh and informative content. What #30DC has been trying to teach is how regular people like you and me can make money online while staying within the guidelines of good ethics and fair business practices.

I hope that those of you who have joined in the #30DC are having a great time learning and rockin’! For those of you who haven’t yet… here’s the link: Join the 30 Day Challenge!.

I don’t think that people who will join just now would be able to catch up… but what I would recommend you do is to download all the pre-season and #30DC videos. They can serve as a tutorial for you.

All the best,

Eric Delos Santos
